Jul 7, 2010 - @percivalburger My dad has several Mercury amalgam fillings and he's 55 with no health problems :P He tells me how when he was a kid he'd break mercury switches and play with it.. he says he spilled it on his carpet lots of times... still, no health problems.

Sep 3, 2010 - i believe that the reason a hatter would go mad was because the glue that they used in making the hats had mercury so they would get the glue on their hands or breathe it in (as mentioned) and over years would make them go crazy
